Ex-racers are great dogs...but they may not be right for every home. They've been bred and trained to do one thing: run extremely fast. Greyhounds can NEVER be off leash in an unfenced area. Greyhounds were breed to chase without question and the neighbor's cat, a squirrel, or even a blowing bit of paper could prove irresistible to your new dog. Greyhounds are large dogs, average of 65-85 pound for males, 50-65 for females, but they are very calm in the house and sleep for the majority of the day. Greyhounds are very quiet and clean dogs. They seldom bark and have almost no "doggie" odor. These traits make greyhounds great pets, and even great apartment dogs, as long as their owners are committed to a regular exercise regime.

We are always acquiring new greyhouds to offer up for adoption. It is our hope to find good, solid homes for each retired dog that comes to us.
