Burton Oxford grew up in Americus, Georgia and was educated in private schools in Americus and Gainesville, Georgia, later continuing his higher education at Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia. While in college he worked in the food service business as well as marketing housing products.

In 2000, Burton accepted a position with the H.A. Sack Company in Statesboro, Georgia, (an industrial subcontractor) as their marketing manager. While at Sack, Burton generated over $74 million in contracts, developed the company's website, built profitable customer/client relationships, developed and initiated new marketing strategies and all along provided leadership, guidance, and support to the Administrative Team.

In 2004, he assumed a similar position with McDonald Construction Services (an industrial developer and general contractor) in Atlanta, Georgia, generating over $17 million in contracts in one year. Although he had established himself throughout Georgia in the Economic Development Community as a competent consultant, he never could shake his inner entrepreneurial desire to break into the food service business.

Over the course of several years, Burton worked with the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center to development a business plan to help him accomplish his dream while continually seeking a potential location which would fit into his plans. He even studied real estate, obtaining his real estate license, in order to help him better identify strategic commercial locations.

In February of 2005, Burton opened Wiengers, Inc. in a shopping center in south Augusta. At the close of business his first day of operations, he called his father (who had tried to discourage him from going into such a venture) to report that according to the business plan which he had worked so hard to develop, he had made a profit and this was from the very first day.

Today, Burton manages the day to day operations including personnel, accounting, marketing, and purchasing.

"Although the hours are long, customers very demanding, and the employees quite hard to keep under control at times, the satisfaction of starting my own business from scratch and being successful, not to mention profitable, life just couldn't get any better," says Burton Oxford.
